North Carolina Seafood Festival

What? The North Carolina Seafood Festival is a not-for-profit organization of Carteret county citizens and business people, in conjunction with the town of Morehead City, N.C. Recognizing the importance of seafood to eastern North Carolina, Seafood Festival, Inc., organized to develop and conduct a festival every year, the first weekend in October, to promote the positive social and economic impact of the seafood industry on the citizens of North Carolina; educate the public about seafood and its importance to the state economy; publicize the wide variety of seafood indigenous to North Carolina and provide the opportunity for people to enjoy it; boost tourism and recreation in eastern North Carolina in the non-summer months; establish a scholarship program for educational pursuits related to the seafood industry and provide the opportunity for North Carolina non-profit, civic, church, and educational organizations to raise funds through participation in the festival.

Louisiana Seafood Festival

What? New Orleans is world-renowned for the taste and quality of its seafood, much of which comes from the nearby Gulf of Mexico. Given that reputation, organizers of the Louisiana Seafood Festival felt there was no better place to hold such a festival and they turned it into a three-day celebration. Held every year during the fall, the free festival features live entertainment, celebrity chef cooking demonstrations, local arts and crafts and world-famous cuisine from top New Orleans restaurants and caterers.

Hampton Beach Seafood Festival
Where? Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, USA

What? The Hampton Beach Seafood Festival has evolved dramatically, and has been acclaimed as “One of the Top 100 Events in North America”, by the American Bus Association in 1996, 2001, 2003, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 , 2010 and 2011. Festivities include: Over 50 of the Seacoast’s top restaurants serving an abundance of mouthwatering seafood delicacies; 80 Arts & Crafts vendors promoting locally made products; hundreds of Ocean Boulevard merchants offering end-of-the-season sidewalk sales; a Kiddie Land with the region’s most notable celebrities in children’s entertainment; continuous culinary chef demonstrations produced by Pat Whitley; and two stages of continuous entertainment with 15 bands and orchestras. There are three “don’t miss” main events planned throughout the weekend the Lobster Roll Eating Competition and a spectacular fireworks display on Saturday and on Sunday spectators will view an amazing Sky Diving extravaganza by Sky Dive New England.
